Seraikela, Aug 16: State Adivasi Welfare and Transport Minister Champai Soren Monday said Jharkhand was making fast progress in all fields under the able leadership of young Chief Minister Hemant Soren. He said the state government was leaving no stone unturned to make sure that the benefits of various public welfare schemes and projects reach the marginalized sections of society.
Addressing a huge gathering at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Seraikela after hoisting the National Flag on the occasion of 76th Independence Day, the Minister said the government was fulfilling the dreams of Jharkhand’s revolutionaries who had sacrificed their lives for a separate tribal state.
Counting the achievements of Hemant Soren government, the Minister said ‘Apka Adhikar, Apki Sarkar, Apke Dwar’ programme of the state government was aimed at benefitting people on the lowest rung of society. Out of the total 1.14 applications from all districts, 1.11 have been disposed, he said.
Soren said the government had started the scheme to provide water to farmers through pipeline in the three districts of Kolhan. In industries, jobs are being given to 75 per cent local youths. Under the new sports policy, players are being appointed directly, he said.
Soren said ICU facility was made available at the Seraikela Sadar Hospital. Very soon, a state-of-the-art hospital with 100 bed capacity would be started in Seraikela-Kharsawan, he said.
Soren said pipeline water was being supplied from Ganjia Barrage to 20,000 hectares of agricultural land and that it had been decided to rescue all 150 villages of Icha from flash floods.
The Minister appealed to all citizens to unite for the progress of the state. He gave letters of appreciation to several government officers and employees for their good work during the Panchayat elections.
Seraikela-Kharsawan Deputy Commissioner Arava Rajkamal and SP Anand Prakash were also present during the I-Day celebrations along with other dignitaries. Hundreds of school children, senior citizens and other citizens participated in the event with zeal.
