MLAs Protest Rising LPG Prices at Jharkhand Assembly

Ranchi: Legislators of the ruling alliance staged a vocal protest outside the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly on Friday to condemn rising inflation and skyrocketing domestic LPG prices. The MLAs targeted the central government’s policies, arguing that the increased cost of cooking gas has severely crippled household budgets.

Heavy Burden on Middle-Income Families

Addressing the protesters, Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar emphasized that continuous price hikes have placed an unbearable weight on ordinary citizens. He noted that even at high prices, many consumers struggle to secure cylinders, further aggravating the crisis for poor and middle-income families.

Key concerns raised by the MLA include:

  • Budget Strain: Rising costs make managing daily kitchen expenses increasingly difficult.

  • Supply Issues: Families face significant hurdles in cylinder availability despite paying premium rates.

  • Public Struggle: Inflation has become the primary concern for citizens grappling with the overall cost of living.

Demands for Immediate Relief

Sardar and his colleagues demanded that the central government take immediate action to stabilize LPG prices and guarantee adequate supply. He asserted that as elected representatives, they must bring the public’s grievances to the forefront and pressure the government for concrete relief measures.
