Ranchi, July 17: Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cooperative Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey conducted a surprise inspection on Monday at the Land Conservation Office in Ranchi and the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Lac Value Addition Training Center in Sidraul, Namkum. The Minister expressed strong dissatisfaction over the sluggish pace of scheme implementation and issued strict directives for timely completion.

During her visit, Minister Tirkey reviewed the status of various schemes under the Land Conservation Department, including deep boring, percolation tanks, pond renovation, and the distribution of tractors and pump sets. She pulled up officials for the delay in schemes recommended by MLAs and instructed that site inspections by Engineers (E/AE) must be completed by the end of August.

She outlined a timeline: investigation reports were to be submitted to BDOs and COs in September, followed by submission of scheme lists to the Deputy Commissioner for approval. Implementation must begin by October. She also emphasized simplifying procedures to ensure that government grant benefits reached the maximum number of farmers.

At the Sidraul Lac Research and Training Center, she reviewed lac collection, processing, and training activities. Concerned over poor maintenance of equipment, she instructed officials to improve conditions and enhance farmer training in lac production to establish Jharkhand as a leader in the industry.

The surprise inspection underscored the Minister’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and expediting development schemes.
