Ranchi, February 21: Jharkhand JPSC-1 topper Shalini Vijay, her mother and brother have committed suicide together in Kerala. The bodies of all three have been seized from the government residence in Kakkanad, Ernakulam, Kerala.
In the incident, the police have seized all three bodies and started further action. This incident has raised questions in the minds of people that why three members of the same family committed suicide.
The topper’s father Manish Vijay is working as Additional Commissioner in the Customs Department in Kakkanad, Kerala. He is absconding from home.
In the incident, Shalini Vijay, who was the topper of the first batch of Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC-1), her mother Shakuntala and brother committed suicide.
Shalini Vijay was the topper of JPSC-1 and was working in Jharkhand at the rank of Deputy Collector for a long time. Two years ago she went on leave, after which she did not return to duty.
Shalini Vijay was a resident of Kerala. According to sources, Shalini Vijay, her brother Manish, who was an Assistant Commissioner of Central Excise, and mother were found dead in the government residence at Kakkanad in Ernakulam, Kerala.
The bodies of Shalini Vijay and her brother Manish were found hanging in the house, while the body of her mother Shakuntala was found on the bed.
According to the police, all three had committed suicide several days ago. Manish Vijay had taken leave about a week ago. When he did not reach the office even after the leave was over, the people working with him reached his house. When his colleagues reached the house, they found that a foul smell was coming from the house.
Then the local police was informed about the incident. After getting the information, when the police broke the door and looked inside, they found that the bodies of Shalini Vijay and Manish were hanging from a noose, while the body of mother Shakuntala was lying on the bed. All three had committed suicide several days ago.
Due to this, the bodies started stinking. Manish Vijay’s colleagues have told the police that his mother used to live here earlier. About a year ago, his sister also came to live here. The police have started searching for Shalini’s husband. Only after this, the reasons for the suicide are likely to be revealed.
