Ranchi, April 29: Despite a slight respite, Jharkhand continues to grapple with intense heat waves, as confirmed by the Meteorological Department. Abhishek Anand, the head of the Ranchi-based weather center, disclosed that although the severity has lessened, the oppressive heat will persist in many districts until at least May 2nd.
According to the latest update, on April 29th, heat wave conditions are expected to prevail in several districts, including Bokaro, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Deoghar, Pakur, Dumka, Sahibganj, Seraikela-Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, and West Singhbhum. This pattern is anticipated to persist through April 30th and May 1st, impacting additional districts like East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Seraikela Kharsawan, Garhwa, Palamu, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Deoghar, Dumka, Pakur, Godda, and Sahibganj.
Moreover, there’s a likelihood of heat wave conditions lingering in many districts on May 2nd, particularly in Seraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum, and East Singhbhum districts of Kolhan division.
Despite brief spells of cool winds in the morning in Ranchi, the sky is expected to remain clear and dry throughout the day, with no significant fluctuations in maximum temperatures projected over the next four days.
In terms of precipitation, the forecast indicates clear weather until May 3rd, with minimal chances of rain. However, residents should anticipate light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in isolated areas in the northeastern part of the state on May 5th.
Within the past 24 hours, while some regions experienced light rainfall, Godda and Pakur districts faced a heat wave, with Godda registering the highest temperature at a scorching 44.3 degrees Celsius.
