Ranchi, Nov 8: In response to a petition challenging the promotion of reserved category officials to unreserved category vacancies, the Jharkhand High Court held a hearing on Wednesday.
The court had already lifted the promotion ban on October 31, emphasizing that the final decision on promotions would be influenced by the outcome of the petition. During the previous hearing, the court had temporarily suspended an order issued by the Personnel Department in 2022, which permitted the promotion of reserved category officials to fill vacant positions in the reserved category.
The petition was filed by Mukesh Kumar, Rajiv Kumar Sinha, and others and was heard in the High Court’s chamber of Justice Gautam Kumar Chaudhary. This matter is scheduled for further discussion on December 6.
