Jharkhand High Court breather for ED officials

Ranchi, March 21: Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers of Ranchi office have got relief from Jharkhand High Court.

The High Court has stayed Ranchi police from issuing notices to ED officials.

A SC/ST case has been registered in the police station by former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren against ED officers. In light of this, Ranchi Police had sent a notice to ED officials.

Incidentally, Hemant Soren has lodged an FIR against the Additional Director of Enforcement Directorate and other officers in the SC/ST police station of Ranchi. Among the officers against whom cases have been registered, Additional Director Kapil Raj, Assistant Director Devvrat Jha, Anupam Kumar and Aman Patel and others have been made accused.

SI Deepak Kumar Rai was given the responsibility of investigating the case.

ED officers approached Jharkhand High Court against this. After the hearing, the High Court has stopped Ranchi Police from issuing notices to ED officers.

Hemant Soren has said in the FIR that from the media report dated January 30, 2024, he got information that BMW car and money have been seized from the Delhi residence and it was alleged that the car and money was of Hemant Soren.

He claimed that the money and car did not belong to him and alleged that this has been done by ED officials who are not from the tribal community to defame him and his family, so that they can get a sentence of seven years or more. He and his family have been mentally tortured by this action of the Enforcement Directorate officials.
