Ranchi: Jharkhand DGP Ajay Kumar Singh and Ranchi SSP Kishore Kaushal appeared before the Jharkhand High Court in connection with the demolition of the land of the late Justice MY Iqbal of the Supreme Court on Thursday. The court asked him why the crime graph in the state is increasing? How do the land mafia dare to occupy the land of others? What are the police doing for crime control?
The court has asked the DGP to file individual affidavits within four weeks and explain what measures are being taken to stop illegal activities of land mafia and crime control in the state. In fact, the Jharkhand High Court had taken suo motu on the media report of the incident of the late Justice MY Iqbal of the Supreme Court MY Iqbal to try to occupy the land by demolishing the boundary of the land in Ranchi.
This incident took place on June 25. The land mafia had demolished the boundary of the land of Justice Iqbal at Vikrant Chowk and tried to grab it. An FIR was lodged by Havildar Zainul Ansari deputed to oversee the land at Lower Bazar police station. Later, the police arrested the accused. During the hearing on the basis of automatic cognizance in this case in the bench headed by Justice S Chandrashekhar, an affidavit has been filed on behalf of the state government that strict action will be taken against the land grabbers.
