Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta today paid homage to martyr Nirmal Mahto at his Samadhi Sthal on the occasion of revolutionary leaders 33rd death anniversary. Banna Gupta observed on the occasion, Nirmalda was never scared to stand against wrong doing. He fought for the poor farmers and labourers. He fought and stood his ground to keep the self confidence and pride of the Jharkhand residents intact. He died a revolutionary. He was a martyr. He never fell prey to enticements and never compromised on principles. His dream was to carve out a separate Jharkhand state so that the simple, hard working, enterprising and trusting people of Jharkhand were no longer subjected to oppression, torture and corruption. His dream became a reality on November 15, 2000.
The Health Minister said that it was on this fateful day in 1987 that Nirmal Mahto fell victim to a vile conspiracy. The brightest star of the Jharkhand revolution was felled by a conspiratorial bullet. But his dreams live on and inspire people. The Jharkhand government is committed to the realization of Nirmaldas dream and this will be the true tribute to the immortal Shahid, he stated.
