Jharkhand Government to send 70 Christians on Goa pilgrimage

Jamshedpur, June 11: The Jharkhand government is organizing a pilgrimage to Goa for Christians in Jharkhand for which applications are being accepted. Seventy Christians from East Singhbhum district will be sent on pilgrimage to Goa through Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation Limited (JTDCL). This journey is set for the last week of June.

To be eligible for this pilgrimage, one must be over 60 years of age and a permanent resident of Jharkhand. The pilgrim should fall under the BPL category (not be a taxpayer). The applicant should not have earlier availed of this facility earlier.

To avail the benefits of the BPL category, Varisht Nagrik Teerth Darshan Scheme, one must fill out the two applications in the prescribed form and attach the original medical certificate along with 2 photographs and Fit for Travel Certificate at the nearest Block Office and District Sports Office, East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur. The set of documents must be submitted before the deadline of June 20, 2024.

Pilgrims will be selected by the district-level selection committee. Priority will be given to those who have applied first. If the number of pilgrims exceeds the prescribed number, then in addition to the main list, a waiting list (10% of the prescribed number) will also be prepared.
