Jharkhand government eyes investment promotion from abroad

Ranchi, June 2:  Jharkhand  Government  will  appoint  a nodal  officer  to  assist  Jharkhand diasporas settled  in Trinidad  and Tobago in obtaining  information  about  their  ancestors.  

On their  arrival  to  Jharkhand  the  nodal  officer  will  assist  them  to  find  out  their  ancestral links, Chief  Minister Raghuwar Das said during  a meet –and- greet session with  Indian ambassador  to Trinidad and Tobago Biswadip Dey on Thursday.

The Jharkhand  government will  produce  an audio -visual  related to  Jharkhand’s  tradition, culture, resources and  scope  of  tourism  and  provide  it to  all embassies for at most  investment  in  Jharkhand, to attract more and more tourists  and to make presence in  global market , added  the CM.

Chief Minister urged the Indian ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago Biswadip Dey  to inform the business community and the Indians  residing in Trinidad  and Tobago  to attend the Global Investors Summit in  Jharkhand  scheduled to be held in November.

For the development of the states, the Prime Minister has taken the initiative and asked the Indian ambassadors in different countries to go to the Indian states and communicate. In this series, he has come to Jharkhand, said, Dey.

Communication between ambassadors of India to various countries and states will boost investment climate and states will be able to make the world fraternity aware of their economic, cultural and social activities, added the visiting ambassador. This process will establish an emotional connection and movement of people between the two countries will grow, added Dey.

Considerable number of Indians has settled in Trinidad and Tobago. There are quite a number of people of Jharkhand and Bihar. Food habits and gala-festivals have similar essences. In Trinidad and Tobago Diwali and Holi is celebrated alike Jharkhand and Bihar. Holi is called Fagua in Trinidad and Tobago informed Dey.

He suggested for creation of ‘Friends of Jharkhand Association’ and email communication to boost the fraternity.

While sharing his experiences, Das said, “In abroad skilled people get more jobs and high wages. He advised promotion of skill development in Jharkhand.  

He said, “Skill development in the fields like washing machine, micro wave, fridge and other household appliances repairing can boost the wages. Dey also advised value addition in Jharcraft products to popularize them in world market.

The CM informed Dey about Jharkhand government’s policy of industries, energy, agriculture, education and others. Das gifted Dokra artwork to the visiting ambassador.
