Jharkhand finance minister raises outstanding coal royalty dues with Union FM Nirmala Sitharaman

Ranchi, February 7:Jharkhand finance minister and Congress leader Radhakrishna Kishore met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Coal Minister  Kishan Reddy during his Delhi visit. During this, he submitted a written memorandum regarding the demand made to the Center regarding the outstanding amount of Rs 1 lakh 36 thousand crore related to the coal excavation sector of Jharkhand. Along with this, the Finance Minister urged to pay the outstanding amount soon.

Giving this information, State Congress Media Incharge Rakesh Sinha said that Jharkhand State is constantly striving for social and economic progress by increasing internal sources of income. Financial support from the Center is required for the proper development of the state. In such a situation, the Union Ministers have been requested to provide the outstanding amount of Rs 1 lakh 36 thousand crore of Jharkhand soon.

Union Coal Minister Kishan Reddy, showing promptness on this issue, called Additional Secretary of Coal Ministry Smita Pradhan and directed her to form a team of officials of the Coal Ministry of the Government of India and the Mining Ministry of Jharkhand Government. This team will have to hold a cordial meeting and determine the actual amount of dues so that Jharkhand can be paid the dues related to coal excavation.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren has already warned about the recovery of coal royalty dues. On February 4, at the foundation day celebration of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in Dhanbad, he said that if the rights are not given, then he will fight a legal battle with the central government.

We will also shut down the coal mines. This will plunge the whole country into darkness. Jharkhand is no longer ready to tolerate the step-motherly treatment of the central government.

When the coal minister came to Jharkhand recently, he said that the rate of land in Jharkhand is high. It should be reduced.

We said that the land is ours and the rate of land will be whatever we want. The coal companies should return the mines from which mining has been stopped to the landowner. If this is not done, we will occupy it.
