Jamshedpur, March 12: Jharkhand Education Secretary K Ravi Kumar arrived in the city on Sunday. He inspected two government schools, Upgraded Plus Two Jamshedpur Balika Vidyalaya, Sakchi and BPM Plus Two High School, Burmamines, selected as Centres of Excellence.
Kumar was welcomed by the District Education Officer (DEO) Nirmala Kumari Barelia and other department officials. He was welcomed by Principal Manju Sinha at the Sakchi-based school. He inspected the newly-built school building and the construction material kept for laboratory and library construction. He appeared satisfied by the pace of work. He directed the school officials to complete the pending work as soon as possible. He said the fund of Rs 4 lakh allotted for greenery in school should be utilized properly to make the campus green.
Kumar later visited BPM Plus Two High School. He was not satisfied with the slow pace of work. He directed the contractor to finish the work in a month.
The Education Secretary said the Schools of Excellence would have their own website on which they would upload photos, videos and other details of their various activities.
