Ranchi: The School Education and Literacy Department in Jharkhand has opened the doors for candidates successful in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or teacher eligibility tests from other states to apply for teaching positions in primary and middle schools in Jharkhand. However, these candidates must also successfully clear the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JET) within the next three years.
Previously, only candidates successful in JET were eligible to participate in teacher appointments for primary and middle schools in the state. This decision aligns with a recent order from the High Court, and the further process will be managed by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
The School Education and Literacy Department sought the opinion of the Advocate General on this matter, and the decision has been communicated to JSSC. This development comes as part of the ongoing process to appoint 26,000 assistant teachers (primary teachers) in the state.
