Jharkhand Cold Wave: Ranchi Records 2.5°C

Jamshedpur: A cold wave continued to affect several parts of Jharkhand as temperatures dipped significantly across the state, according to a bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department’s Ranchi centre.

Statistics revealed that Ranchi recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 2.5°C, marking one of the coldest days of the season. The maximum temperature stood at 22.2°C, which was 1.2°C below normal.

IMD officials said that cold conditions are likely to persist in parts of the state, especially during early morning and night hours. People have been advised to take precautions against cold exposure, particularly children, the elderly, and those working outdoors.

Highest maximum temperature: Chaibasa (PTO) – 27.0°C

Lowest minimum temperature: Ranchi AMFU – 2.5°C

Rainfall: Nil across all stations in the past 24 hours

Lowest visibility: Daltonganj (MO) – 300 meters, due to dense fog
