Jamshedpur: In view of the highly anticipated visit of Chief Minister Champai Soren to the city on Friday, a team of distinguished officials, including DC Majunath Bhajantri, Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum Piyush Sinha, ADM Law and Order Rajeev Ranjan, and SSP Kishore Kaushal, conducted a thorough inspection of the event venue, Gopal Maidan, today.
The inspection aimed at ensuring meticulous planning for the upcoming acceptance letter distribution ceremony of the divisional level Abua Housing Scheme, where Chief Minister Champai Soren will be the guest of honor. DC Majunath Bhajantri took charge, directing officials to review the number of beneficiaries, prioritize law and order, plan seating arrangements, and manage parking logistics during the Chief Minister’s visit.

The acceptance letter distribution ceremony, scheduled for February 9, is set to witness the participation of beneficiaries from East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela Kharsawan districts. Chief Minister Champai Soren will release the first installment of the housing scheme, providing thirty thousand rupees directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.
Preparations for the event are in full swing under the guidance of District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Majunath Bhajantri. In a meeting held earlier, officials received comprehensive guidelines to expedite preparations, emphasizing the need for seamless coordination.
Critical aspects discussed during the meeting included law and order maintenance, seating arrangements, parking logistics, transportation, mobile toilet facilities, provision of drinking water, and overall cleanliness at the venue. Special attention was dedicated to ensuring the smooth parking of buses carrying beneficiaries from the three districts.
The Abua Housing Scheme, a flagship initiative of the State Government, aims to provide permanent housing solutions to identified rural families. In the first phase, a total of 24,827 beneficiaries will receive assistance under the scheme, including 8,138 from East Singhbhum, 10,252 from West Singhbhum, and 6,437 from Seraikela Kharsawan, in four installments.
Each beneficiary is set to receive a total assistance of Rs 2.00 lakh, distributed across four installments, with provisions for toilet construction through convergence with Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM) or other dedicated sources.
The inspection and subsequent directives from officials highlight the commitment to a seamlessly organized and impactful event that aligns with the government’s vision of improving the lives of rural families.
