Jharkhand CM stresses on safe use of smartphone, affirms govt resolve for digitisation

Jharkhand CM distributes smartphones among Anganwadi, health desk workers

Ranchi, March 26: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren said that today is the age of technology. Technology is changing rapidly every day. In such a situation, digitization is being promoted in the schemes, services and activities run through Anganwadi centers, so that the work being done in the field of women and child welfare can be accelerated with convenience.

Hemant Soren addressed while handing over smartphones to Anganwadi workers, supervisors and help desk workers at a function organized by the department of women, child development and social security in the Jharkhand secretariat.

This initiative marks another step in the government’s mission to empower frontline workers with digital tools, ensuring better service delivery while emphasizing safe and responsible use of technology.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that today there is a smartphone in every hand.

“The smartphone is playing the role of an aide who stays with you 24 hours a day. It is making the work you are doing easier. In such a situation, it is not easy to move even a step forward without a smartphone. Keeping this in mind, the government is giving smartphones to Anganwadi workers, supervisors and health desk workers, so that you can do your work better. With this, you will be able to easily prepare and keep safe every day’s details and reports related to the activities and work conducted in Anganwadi centers. Through this, real time monitoring of the work done by you will be possible,” said Soren.

The Chief Minister told Anganwadi workers and supervisors to use smartphones for government work through the app prescribed by the government.

“Be careful while downloading the app on your mobile phone. Do not fall prey to populist and tempting messages. If even a slight mistake and negligence is done in this, then you may have to face many other problems along with financial loss. In such a situation, use your smartphone safely,” advised Soren.

“Like everything else, smartphones too have positive and negative aspects. Especially the way various forms of crime are emerging through smartphones is a matter of great concern. If you use your smartphone safely, it will make your life much easier,” suggested Soren.

The smartphone distribution initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to promote digitalization in welfare programs. By integrating technology into Anganwadi centers, the administration aims to streamline operations and improve the quality of services for women and children.

With digital record-keeping and real-time monitoring, the government hopes to enhance transparency and effectiveness in its programs. The initiative also aligns with the state’s vision of using technology to strengthen governance and service delivery.
