Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren and JMM legislator Kalpana Soren visited Cheshire Home on the occasion of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren’s 82nd birth anniversary and spent time with specially-abled children residing there. The Chief Minister interacted with the children, held warm conversations with them and distributed blankets and essential items.
Addressing the programme, Hemant Soren said this was the first time the birth anniversary of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren was being observed in his absence. He recalled that Guruji’s lifelong struggle, sacrifice and commitment paved the way for the dream of a separate Jharkhand state. He said Shibu Soren remained dedicated to the upliftment of the poor, backward and tribal communities, and his thoughts and ideals would continue to guide generations.
The Chief Minister said he shared a deep emotional bond with Cheshire Home and had been visiting the institution regularly over the years. Appreciating the care and management of the facility, he said members of the institution worked with dedication and a strong sense of service. Observing the confidence and abilities of the children, he said their strength and determination were no less than anyone else’s.
Hemant Soren assured all possible support to Cheshire Home and said the state government was continuously making meaningful efforts in the field of welfare of persons with disabilities. He also extended New Year greetings and wished a bright future for the children.
Kalpana Soren also interacted with the children during the visit, encouraged them and appreciated the service activities being carried out at the institution.
