Jharkhand CM pays tribute to Kharsawan martyrs, exude confidence of retaining power in 2024

Appeals tribal, dalits to remain united, identify those who think of their interest

Jamshedpur, January 1: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid tribute to Kharsawan firing martyrs, expressing condolences and exuded confidence of coming back to power in 2024 and targeted BJP’s past governance.

Hemant Soren visited Kharsawan to pay respects to the martyrs of the historic firing incident.

At the martyr’s altar, Soren laid a floral tribute, solemnly acknowledging the sacrifice of those lost.

Soren’s address to the gathering included a fierce critique of the BJP’s past governance in Jharkhand.

He reflected on the challenges faced by Jharkhand since its formation, attributing them to the BJP’s earlier rule.

Soren accused the previous BJP-led government of exploiting the state’s resources.

Under his leadership, he emphasized efforts to restore rights and entitlements to the tribal communities.

The Chief Minister claimed that these initiatives have met with resistance from those discomforted by the empowerment of tribals.
Soren’s speech also looked ahead to 2024, calling for unity to ensure the continuation of his government.

“This is not a martyr’s place, but a place of inspiration for the tribals. This is where we get the strength to unite and move the tribals forward.  We should be cautious of misleading statements spread by vested interested people who are also using some of our tribal brethren. If Adivasis and Dalits remain united then the next government will also form those who think about their interest. We will come again in 2024 and erase the stigma of backwardness attached to the state in next few years” said Soren.

He criticized Union Minister Arjun Munda for organizing a Kisan Mela on Martyr’s Day, interpreting it as a deviation from the day’s solemn significance.
The event also featured addresses by Minister Champai Soren and local MLA Dashrath Gagrai.

The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand is a state which is identified with the tribals. Yet, marginalization of tribals continued throughout the last two decades. “Our government started organizing a grand program on Tribal Day to give recognition to the tribals and their civilization, culture and tradition on the world stage. I assure you that in the coming days, its event will be so grand and spectacular that tribals from all over the world will come to Jharkhand and add to the glory of this event,” said Soren.

“Ever since our government was formed, we have been continuously working towards taking Jharkhand forward. Jharkhand will become 25 years old in the year 2025. In such a situation, we have taken steps towards strengthening this state. We will create a Jharkhand which will stand on its own feet and will not need help from anyone,” added Soren.
