Jharkhand CM lays foundation of state’s 3rd private medical college

Ranchi, June 27: Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren laid the foundation stone of state’s third private medical college in Ranchi Smart City on Thursday.

Addressing the foundation laying function of of Gautam Medical College and Hospital in Ranchi Smart City campus, Champai Soren said that in the coming days, many medical colleges and hospitals will be opened in the state in private and PPP (public private partnership) mode.

He said that strengthening the health service of the state is the priority of the state government. Efforts are constantly being made to improve the health structures.

Soren said that people will not only get better health facilities from private medical college, but the development of the state will also get a new direction. Those investing in any sector including health will get full support from the state government.

He said that the people of Jharkhand will no longer have to go to other states to get treatment for minor diseases. The government is making efforts to ensure that people get better treatment in their own state.

Champai Soren said that in view of the health related needs in Jharkhand, there is a need to open more and more medical colleges and hospitals. Even today, this state has very few medical colleges and hospitals as compared to the country’s standard. There is also a huge shortage of doctors. If medical colleges open, the shortage of doctors will be overcome. I am confident that in the coming days, many more medical colleges and hospitals will open here on private or PPP mode, which will benefit the people here.

The Chief Minister appealed to those running private medical colleges to provide medical facilities in rural areas as well, so that the people of the village do not have to come to the city. They should not have to go to other states.
