Jharkhand CM holds review meet for Shravani Mela

Ranchi, May 23: The state government has started preparations for the famous Shravani Mela 2025 to be held in Deoghar.

Chief minister Hemant Soren held a high-level review meeting with Baba Baidyanath Dham Basukinath Tirtha Kshetra Vikas Pradhikaran and senior officials at the Krishna Lok Prashasan Sansthan in Ranchi on Friday.

Hemant Soren posted on his social media X (formerly Twitter) and said, “Attended the Baba Baidyanath Dham-Basukinath Tirtha Kshetra Vikas Pradhikaran and high-level review meeting in Ranchi regarding the preparations for the State Shravani Mela – 2025 starting from the month of July.”

This fair held during the month of Shravan attracts lakhs of devotees every year. Devotees from the country and abroad gather to offer water at Baba Baidyanath Dham. Devotees take Ganga water from Sultanganj in Bihar and reach Deoghar by walking, which is called “Kanwar Yatra”.

The government has decided to implement the Argha system this year for crowd control and convenience of devotees.

Apart from this, VIP darshan will be postponed during the fair and priority will be given to common devotees.

Administrative officers and a large number of police forces will be deployed from across the state to maintain security and order in Shravani Mela. There is a maximum crowd on Monday due to the special worship of Lord Shiva, so the government has instructed officials to make special preparations and rest houses for devotees.
