‘An irreparable loss for Jharkhand’, CM mourns Ramdas Soren’s demise
Jamshedpur: Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accompanied by his wife and Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren, on Wednesday reached the residence of late Ramdas Soren, former Minister of School Education and Literacy, at Ghorabandha in Jamshedpur. With folded hands and moist eyes, the Chief Minister offered floral tributes to the photograph of the departed leader and prayed for eternal peace of his soul.

Hemant Soren met the bereaved family members, consoled them in their hour of grief, and expressed deep condolences. Recalling the former minister’s contribution, he said that the passing of Ramdas Soren has left behind a painful void that will be difficult to fill. “Within a fortnight of the demise of Dishom Guru and my Baba Shibu Soren ji, the departure of Ramdas Soren ji is unbearable for me. My heart is restless and distressed. His demise is an irreparable loss for me personally and for the state of Jharkhand,” he said with visible emotion.

The Chief Minister remembered Ramdas Soren as a leader who rose from the grassroots and carved out his identity through struggle and public service. “He made an important contribution in the long Jharkhand movement under the leadership of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren ji. His life was dedicated to the service of the people. Simple in nature, compassionate at heart, and firm in his resolve, he always stood with the common people to share their pain and solve their problems. He may not be with us physically anymore, but his life and work will continue to inspire generations,” Hemant Soren said.

Reflecting on Ramdas Soren’s tenure as Minister of School Education and Literacy, the Chief Minister highlighted his commitment to strengthening the education system in Jharkhand. “He was working tirelessly to improve the standard of education in government schools. Many new initiatives were started under his leadership to ensure that children, especially those from rural and poor backgrounds, receive quality education. He was determined to strengthen school infrastructure and ensure the all-round development of children. His unfinished work in the field of education will always remind us of his dedication to the future of our state,” he added.

It may be recalled that Education Minister Ramdas Soren passed away on August 15 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in New Delhi. His sudden demise has plunged the political and social circles of Jharkhand into mourning, with tributes pouring in from across the state.

Hemant Soren concluded his visit with folded hands before the portrait of the late minister, praying to the Almighty to give strength to the grieving family. “Ramdas Soren ji’s life was a saga of struggle, service, and sacrifice. His memories and his contribution to Jharkhand will remain etched forever,” he said before leaving.’
