Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren once again receives threats on e-mail, police identifies accused in Bangalore

Ranchi, June 23:  Once again a threatening e-mail has been sent to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Official sources on Wednesday said that this is for the fourth occasion that the Chief Minister has received threatening in the email. Police on its part said that the IP address of the mail has been traced to Karnataka.

 As per the IP address, the culprit was Vikram Godhrai whose address is A cross BEML Layout Raja Rajeshwari Nagar Bengaluru. An FIR  in this connection has been registered at Gonda Police Station in Ranchi on May 28.

An FIR has been registered against this in Gonda police station of Ranchi under sections 385 and 387 of IPC and IT Act. On the complaint of Inspector Deepak Kumar, posted in Gonda police station, accused Vikram Godhrai Muneshwar has been made an FIR accused. The threatening e-mail was done on May 25.

. On three previous occasions including January 5 this year and on July 8 and 17 in 2020 the Chief Minister had received threats on email. Police could not trace the IP address on three nor could find the culprits on the three previous occasions. Later the probe was handed over to CID in these cases and the IP server was traced to Germany and Switzerland.

This is the fourth time that a threat has been sent to Chief Minister Hemant Soren through e-mail. The IP addresses related to the previous three e-mails are yet to be traced by the police.

The threatening e-mail was done on May 25 in the official email of chief minister.

Let us tell you that after the attack on the Chief Minister’s convoy at Kishorganj Chowk in the capital on January 4, on January 5, he was threatened with death by sending an anonymous e-mail. Last year also in the month of July, the CM was threatened by sending an e-mail. The criminals had threatened by sending e-mails on 8 and 17 July 2020. In this case, two separate FIRs were registered in the cyber police station of Ranchi in the past as well.

The police could not trace the IP address related to the earlier three e-mails, but the IP address of this fourth e-mail ID has been traced. The IP address of the fourth e-mail has been found in Karnataka. According to the IP address, the accused is Vikram Godhrai. His address has been found A Cross BEML, Layout, Raja Rajeshwari Nagar Bangalore Karnataka. Till now the accused has not been arrested. Police is probing the whole matter.

However, sources in police said that the youth was nabbed earlier this month and during investigation was found to be mentally depressed due to Covid and did not have any criminal antecedent and was found to be from a good family and had indulged in this act out of frustration. On the directive of the Ranchi SSP Surendra Kumar Jha the youth was released on bail bond.
