Ranchi / Jamshedpur, October 16: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has taken direct command of the Ghatshila by-election campaign, underscoring the strategic importance of the seat for the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
In a high-level meeting held in Ranchi today, Soren had detailed discussions with all party MLAs from the Kolhan division, focusing on booth management, voter connect, and grassroots mobilisation.
The Chief Minister reviewed the political landscape of the constituency and instructed leaders to ensure a united front and disciplined coordination across party ranks.
According to party insiders, Soren stressed on reaching out to every section of voters—particularly tribal communities, youth, and women—to consolidate the JMM’s base in the region.
The leadership also deliberated on countering the BJP’s campaign narrative and strengthening coordination with alliance partners.
The Ghatshila by-election, triggered by a recent vacancy, has turned into a prestige contest for both the ruling JMM-led alliance and the opposition BJP.
With both camps gearing up for an intense face-off, Soren’s direct involvement signals that the JMM is leaving no stone unturned to secure a decisive victory.
