Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren reaffirmed his government’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting tribal culture and traditions during the closing ceremony of the Luguburu Ghantabari Dhorom Garh State Festival 2025, held at Lalpania in Bokaro district’s Gomia block on the occasion of Kartik Purnima.
Addressing a large gathering of devotees, Soren described the event as “not just a festival, but a symbol of unwavering faith, devotion, and reverence towards our culture and traditions.”
He urged people to preserve and strengthen tribal customs for future generations, stressing that a deep understanding of heritage helps build a stronger and more united society.

The Chief Minister highlighted that Luguburu, a sacred site for the Santhal community, attracts lakhs of devotees from Jharkhand, other Indian states, and abroad each year.
Pilgrims visit to offer prayers to Lugu Baba, seeking blessings for prosperity and well-being.
Expressing gratitude to the attendees, Soren prayed for the continued growth and global recognition of the festival.
Reaffirming the state’s commitment to cultural enrichment, Soren said the government is taking steps to improve infrastructure and amenities at Luguburu Ghantabari.
“This pilgrimage site is continuously making a distinct identity on the world map,” he noted.
The Chief Minister also paid homage to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, recalling his deep faith in Luguburu.
He announced that a statue of the veteran leader would soon be installed at the site and presented a terracotta bust of Shibu Soren to the festival’s organising committee.
“Let us move forward on the path shown by Dishom Guru and carry forward his vision to inspire future generations,” Soren said.
