Vows to safeguard, beautify tribal religious places
Seraikela, February 7: Chief minister Champai Soren on Wednesday was given a rousing welcome on his arrival in his ancestral village for the first time as chief minister.
Champai Soren reached his native village Jillinggoda in Seraikela by helicopter. A huge crowd of supporters gathered here to welcome him.
The villagers welcomed Soren with traditional tribal musical instruments.
The chief minister helicopter landed at the football ground of Jillinggora at around 1:33 pm. Kolhan commissioner Manoj Kumar, DIG Ajay Linda and Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla, SP Dr. Vimal Kumar, SDO Parul Singh provided guard of honor to the CM.
After this, Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla welcomed him by giving him a bouquet.
People stood in lines on both sides holding bouquets. Accepting the greetings of the people, Champai went ahead and garlanded the statue of Sido Kanhu installed near the ground at the end of the village.
After this his convoy directly reached the village.

Champai Soren bowed his head at Jahersthan in the village. His wife, brother, daughter-in-law, daughter and family members welcomed him in the traditional manner at the door of the house.
Champai Soren stayed at home with his family for about 5-10 minutes. After this, he again reached the house of his personal secretary, Guruprasad Mahato who lost his father recently and met the bereaved family members and consoled them.
While returning from there, the CM garlanded the statue of his political colleague Jogeshwar Tudu in Mahuldih.
He also sat in the party office for some time and accepted people’s greetings. During this, he said that all the religious places of tribals and indigenous people in the state will be protected and uplifted. So that their identity and importance remains intact. He said that by taking forward all the public welfare schemes started by Hemant Soren, work will be done towards the all-round development of the state.
