Ranchi, November 8: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren announced that Rs 30-Crore will be spent on the overall development of tribal religious place Luguburu Ghantabari at Bokaro on Tuesday.
“Luguburu Ghantabari is the biggest center of faith and belief of Dhoromagarh Santal tribals. It is linked to their religious, social and cultural identity. The government will spend Rs 30 crore on the overall development of this holy shrine,” said Soren while addressing at the International Santal Sarna Dharma Mahasammelan organized here today on the occasion of Kartik Purnima.
He said that with this amount, roads, library, toilets and other facilities would be provided to go up to the hills along with beautification.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister prayed for the progress of the state – happiness – prosperity – peace – harmony and prosperity by offering prayers to Lugu Baba at Luguburu Ghantabari, Dhoromagarh, Lalpaniya, Bokaro. The Chief Minister paid homage by garlanding the statue of Lord Birsa Munda installed here.
The Chief Minister said that the government is planning to construct a building to maintain the tribal traditions in the tribal dominated village He said that all the places of worship of the tribal community – Sarna sthal would be cordoned off.
The chief minister asked the tribal to take a pledge to further strengthen this inherited tradition, customs and take it forward.
The Chief Minister said that due to being less educated, the tribal community is deprived of its rights and rights. Tribal society has to be strong from every point of view including economic, social and educational. They have to be aware of their rights and entitlements. Only then can they move forward..
The Chief Minister said that the government is running many welfare schemes and asked them to get benefits from them.
