Jharkhand CM and health minister inaugurates PSA Oxygen plants and health infrastructures

State’s first Cobas machine installed at RIMS to increase Covid testing rates

Ranchi, Oct 6: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren inaugurated a newly installed Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plant and slew of health infrastructures on Wednesday.

While Jharkhand health minister Banna Gupta inaugurated 26 PSA Oxygen Plants built under PM Cares Fund in 19 districts, a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the PSA oxygen plants across the country.

Hemant Soren a 100 liters per minute capacity PSA Oxygen plant at Sadar Hospital in Ranchi and also inaugurated a 24×7 central pathology lab, 256 slice CT Scan facility and a modern Cobas 6800 machines at RIMS Ranchi.

Incidentally, this was the first Cobas machine installed anywhere in the state.

“We are focussed  in improving health infrastructure across Jharkhand as part of our preparation for the future to meet the Pandemic,’ said Soren.

 State Health Minister Banna Gupta who inaugurated online the PSA oxygen plants in 19 districts at the same venue in RIMS Ranchi  said that the government is very serious about the health of the people of the state and many schemes are being started in various districts regarding health related services.

“During Covid pandemic, the state government has done better work than other states in spite of limited resources and we are fully aware about the expected third wave of the pandemic,” said Banna Gupta while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of schemes worth Rs 50 crore related to state level health services.

In the inaugural program, additional Chief Secretary, health, Arun Kumar Singh, while giving information about the plans of the department, said that for the prevention, prevention and treatment of Covid, at 27 places in 19 districts of the state under PM Care Fund, PSAs have been installed.

While the central pathology  laboratory has been constructed in RIMS to provide all kinds of facilities related to blood tests free to the public.

“With the establishment of Cobas 6800 Lab, the RT PCR sample of Covid -19 will be tested for more than 1200 per day. Also, with the installation of 256 slices CT scan on the first floor of New Trauma Center, patients will be able to get high quality scanning of brain, coronary, angiography and lungs,” said Singh.

 He said that infrastructure is being developed to improve health services. The department is preparing for this. The target is to prepare 5000 additional beds in the state. About 21 thousand oxygen supported beds have been prepared in the state. A blueprint is being prepared for the infrastructure development of MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur. He said that there is a shortage of doctors and medical staff in the state, for this the state government has relaxed the rules of hiring doctors.
