Ranchi: Chief Justice R Banumati was sworn in by the governor of Jharkhand Dr Syed Ahmed at Birsa Mandap of Raj Bhavan on Saturday.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Speaker of the Jharkhand Assembly Shashank Shekhar Bhokta and other ministers and dignitaries were present during the swearing-in ceremony.
The Chief Secretary of Jharkhand RS Sharma was also present during the ceremony. Banumati has succeeded Justice DN Patel was the acting Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court.
