Jharkhand Cabinet’s nod to investigate properties of former ministers in Raghubar govt

Cabinet okays 29 proposals

Ranchi, July 25: The Jharkhand state cabinet today granted permission to file PE (preliminary enquiry) against five former ministers of the Jharkhand Government for having assets beyond the reasonable source of earning.

In the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, approval was granted for the investigation of assets belonging to five former ministers of Jharkhand. The purpose of this investigation is to check their pro-rata earnings. The decision allows for the registration of a preliminary inquiry (PE) against the following former ministers: Amar Kumar Bauri, Randhir Kumar Singh, Dr. Neera Yadav, Lewis Marandi, and Neelkanth Singh Munda.

It is worth noting that Chief Minister Hemant Soren had previously instructed the monitoring department to initiate a PE against these five former ministers. Now, the authorities will proceed with questioning the individuals involved. Additionally, during the same cabinet meeting, a total of 29 proposals were approved.

In relation to a specific case, Pankaj Kumar Yadav vs. State of Jharkhand and others, the Cabinet Secretariat and Monitoring Department sought permission to register the PE against the aforementioned former ministers. The Anti-Corruption Bureau’s investigation report led to this request, and Chief Minister Hemant Soren was approached by the Cabinet Secretariat and Monitoring Department to proceed with the PE against the former ministers.

On a different note, the Jharkhand Officers Teachers Employees Federation extended a warm welcome to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, expressing their gratitude for the approval of guidelines related to the process of availing the old pension scheme. The Federation members warmly received the Chief Minister at the Jharkhand Mantralaya premises. During this occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren reiterated the government’s commitment to providing a conducive work environment and respecting the legitimate demands of government employees.

School libraries to have Dishom Guru’s  biographical books

Ranchi: Children studying in government schools across Jharkhand will now have the opportunity to learn about the life story of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren. The state government has taken the decision to acquire three books written about Shibu Soren. The books that will be purchased include Suno Baccho: Adivasi Sangharsh Ke Nayak Shibu Soren in Gaatha , Dishom Guru: Shibu Soren,” and Tribal Hero: Shibu Soren.

Suno Baccho: Adivasi Sangharsh Ke Nayak Shibu Soren in Gaatha  is a book that portrays the life of Shibu Soren, the hero of the tribal struggle. Additionally, Tribal Hero: Shibu Soren is an English language book dedicated to the same subject. These three books will be procured by the state government and made available in the libraries of government schools for children to read and gain insight from. The decision to acquire these books under the Gyanodaya scheme was taken during the cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday.
