Ranchi, Nov 12: Jharkhand cabinet on Friday named the medical assistance scheme operated for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes as Chief Minister Rogi Rahat Yojana.
Under the scheme, medical assistance is given to this category of persons living below the poverty line or having annual income of Rs 72000. Under this scheme Rs 10,000 rupees will be given to the adult patient instead of three thousand and Rs 5000 will be given to the minor patient instead of Rs1500.
Apart from this, dearness allowance (DA) of government employees has also been increased in the state. On the occasion of Foundation Day, the government has decided that now the DA of state workers has been increased by 3 per cent. This benefit will be available from the date of July 1, 2021. Along with this, pension and family pensioners will also get the benefit of this decision. This dearness allowance has now been increased from 28 percent to 31 percent. Along with this, the DA of the employees getting the fifth pay scale has been increased from 358 to 368, the DA of the employees getting the sixth pay scale has been increased from 189 to 196 per cent. Pension and family pensioners will also get its benefit. The DA hike will cost the government an additional burden of Rs 330 crore.
A total of 37 proposals have been approved in the Jharkhand cabinet on Friday.
The other important decisions at the meeting include the amendment of the Panchayat Samiti Rules were amended. Along with this, free book copies will be given to the children of classes 9 and 10 in government schools. Tender of the Welfare Department was approved for giving free cycles to the children of class 8. Health workers retiring by March 2022 will be given extension of service till March 2022.

In all 14 new rules were also approved which are in line with the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission’s exam conduction rules.
Other decisions include the rules for getting pension to all eligible beneficiaries under the Universal Pension Scheme have been simplified in the state. Now only those who pay income tax or are in any central or state government job will not get the benefit of pension. The previous conditions have been deleted.

A plan of Rs 638 crore has been approved to develop rural health infrastructure across the state. This is a centrally sponsored scheme. The Govindpur-Sahebganj road will be strengthened at a cost of Rs 31.98 crores.
Approval was given to supply clothes under Sona-Sobran Dhoti Sari Lungi Scheme from Mafatlal Industries, Mumbai. At the same time, dhoti sarees will be distributed to selected 64 lakh families under food security. Approval was given to pay the salary of the teacher staff of the project schools. Now the general category students of all government schools will also be given cycles.
It was also decided that the head or the local beneficiary committee will be able to approve the plan of 5 lakhs.
