Jharkhand: Major relief to JBVNL domestic power consumers, hike in artists honorarium

Residential schools in Chaibasa, Dumka, tweak in municipality property tax law

Ranchi, March 15: Hemant Soren led Jharkhand cabinet gave relief to rural and urban domestic power consumers along with tweaking state municipal property tax assessment collection rules on Wednesday.

In all 40 proposals were approved by the state cabinet as announced by state cabinet principal secretary  Ajoy Singh.

The government would give relief to rural and urban domestic consumers of JBVNL (the state run discom) whose consumption is up to 5 kW per month.

The cabinet also approved changes in  the rules of Jharkhand Municipality Property Tax Assessment Collection Recovery Amendment Rules-2022.

 Apart from this, the best and old artists of the state will get monthly honorarium. Earlier those who used to get Rs 1000 will now get Rs 4000. Those who used to get Rs 4000, will now get Rs 8000.

In addition, agricultural consumers will also get the benefit of One Time Settlement Scheme. Approval has been given to start Birsa Irrigation Promotion Scheme from MNREGA head. A target was set to make one lakh wells in a year.

It was also approved that the remaining work of Ranchi sewerage project zone-first phase will now be planned from the state head.

On the lines of Netarhat Residential School and Indira Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Hazaribagh, two residential schools will be established in Kolhan Division (Chaibasa) and Santal Division (Dumka) at a cost of Rs 195.15 crore.

Apart from this, the cabinet has approved the formation of Jharkhand Knowledge Corporation Limited. It will be formed on the lines of Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited. In this, IT department of the state government will have 45 per cent share while  Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation will have 15% and state universities will have 40% share.

Approval has been given for the promotion of state service cadre employees. Pragya Kendra and Library will now be opened in the Panchayat Secretariat. Approval has been given to purchase 3179 Insas make rifles and 4767 51mm motors for Jharkhand Police.

Revision of reservation for district wise appointment has been approved. Approval has been given to give 10 percent reservation to economically weaker section.. Apollo has been selected to provide telemedicine service to 1000 primary centres. Approval was given to the 4-laning scheme of 5.5 kilometer road from Pandra to Kanke in Ranchi.
