Key Proposals on Health, Education, and Administration
Ranchi, December 24: The Hemant Soren led government has once again played a master stroke on Tuesday.
In the cabinet meeting the dearness allowance of government employees and pensioners has been increased by three percent. Now employees and pensioners will get 53 percent dearness allowance increased from 50.
Approval was given to increase the rates of dearness allowance to the state government employees with effect from July 1, 2024 in the revised pay scale (seventh central pay scale) effective from January 1, 2016. Dearness allowance of 53% of the salary has been approved with effect from July 1, 2024.
At the same time, approval was given for an increase in the rates of dearness relief for pensioners and family pensioners of the state government with effect from July 01, 2024. They will also get 53% dearness allowance of the basic pension with effect from July 1, 2024.
A total of 10 proposals have been approved in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
The cabinet approved the Performance Audit Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) on the management of public health infrastructure and health services in Jharkhand. This report will be presented in the next session of the Assembly.
Similarly, the CAG report on the welfare of building and other construction workers was also approved for tabling in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly during the upcoming session.
In terms of funding for Vinoba Bhave University, a budget of Rs 99.56 crore was sanctioned for Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh.
The cabinet approved a proposal to promote retired employees of the Forensic Medicine and Toxicology (FMT) department at RIMS. This decision follows the Jharkhand High Court’s ruling in the case of Dr. Tulsi Mahto vs. The State of Jharkhand and Others.
These decisions reflect the government’s commitment to addressing state financial, educational, and administrative priorities.
The CAG report will be placed in the upcoming assembly session. Administrative approval of Rs 99 crore 56 lakh was given to Vinoba Bhave University for the scheme approved under Meru under the Prime Minister Higher Education Campaign. The proposal to promote former Principal of RIMS Dr. Tulsi Mahato with effect from 31 August 1997 was approved.
The Council of Ministers gave post-deduction approval to the address given by the Governor in the first session of the Sixth Legislative Assembly.
Approval was given to relax the relevant provision of the Jharkhand Mining Engineering Service Rules, notified for providing relaxation in the necessary condition/qualification of passing the departmental examination provided in the service rules, under a one-time arrangement, for making service confirmation and salary increment estimable from the due date to Assistant Mining Officers appointed/working in the year 2017, with the condition that it will not be affected by the result of the order of the High Court and will not be considered as a precedent.
The Chief Minister has given his consent to the proposal for re-enrollment as Home Guard under a one-time arrangement on compassionate grounds, relaxing the rules on humanitarian grounds and in special circumstances, to the dependents of Home Guards who died during duty before the implementation of Jharkhand Home Guard (Volunteer) Rules, 2014 from 15.11.2000 and the draft for the approval of the Council of Ministers in this regard.
