Jharkhand budget’s focus on rural, agriculture, farmers and youth

CM holds preparation of Budget, stresses on linking schemes to last mile

Ranchi, January 8: Jharkhand budget for 2024-25 will focus on villages, agriculture, farmers and youth.

Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren gave this directive while reviewing the preparation of Budget for 2024-25 with senior bureaucrats at Ranchi on Monday.

In the upcoming budget, the Chief Minister has given special attention to other major issues in the state including infrastructure, education, sports, industry, health, agriculture, electricity, water, roads, housing scheme and pension amount under social security, scholarship to students studying in schools and colleges.

 

State finance minister Shri Rameshwar Oraon was also present on this occasion.

 

In the meeting, Hemant Soren asked the officials to prepare a better budget for the financial year 2024-25 keeping in mind the priorities and aspirations of all the people of Jharkhand. The Chief Minister said that the budget should focus on public welfare and all-round development.

 

The Chief Minister said that strengthening the rural economy in the state is the priority of the state government, continuous work is being done in this regard. Jharkhand is also progressing at a fast pace in many areas. Focusing on villages, agriculture, farmers and youth, work is being done to reach public welfare schemes to them.

 

Emphasize on increasing the provisions for employment and self-employment in the budget. The state government is making action plans with the aim of further strengthening them in the coming times.

 

The Chief Minister said that the provisions should be included in the Budget 2024-25 with foresight. Poor’s welfare is the aim of our government.

 

The Chief Minister told the officials that the budget for the financial year 2024-25 includes promotion of small and cottage industries in the state, provision for MNREGA, increasing employment and self-employment, promotion of sports activities, improvement in women’s health, improvement in children’s nutrition. Instructions were given to make special provisions in all other important areas. The Chief Minister said that there is a need to move forward with a new and positive thinking in the upcoming budget.

 

Significantly, Jharkhand government had tabled a budget of Rs 1.16 lakh crore in the first week of March last year for the fiscal 2023-24, 15 per cent more than 2022-23 financial year.

For the financial year 2022-23, the state government had presented a budget of Rs 1.01 lakh crore.
