Jharkhand Budget 2026–27 To Be Presented on Feb 24 in Ranchi

Ranchi: The Budget Session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly will commence on February 18, setting the stage for key legislative business and financial planning for the upcoming fiscal year.

The State Budget is scheduled to be presented in the House on February 24. The session assumes significance as it will outline the government’s fiscal roadmap, development priorities, and sectoral allocations for the financial year 2026–27.

The Budget presentation will detail proposed expenditure, revenue projections, welfare commitments, and infrastructure investments across critical sectors, including agriculture, education, health, rural development, urban infrastructure, and industry.

Ahead of the Budget, the initial days of the session are expected to witness obituary references, tabling official papers, and Question Hour proceedings, during which members will raise issues of public importance. Several government bills and supplementary demands for grants may also be taken up during the course of the session.

The Budget, once tabled, will be followed by a general discussion in the House. Legislators will debate the government’s fiscal strategy, policy thrust, and allocation priorities before the demands for grants are put to a vote.

The Appropriation Bill will subsequently be introduced to authorise expenditure from the state’s consolidated fund. The upcoming session is likely to draw sharp exchanges between the treasury benches and the opposition, particularly over issues relating to employment generation, law and order, welfare delivery, mining revenue, and infrastructure development.

With the Budget presentation slated for February 24, political and administrative focus will remain firmly on Ranchi as the government unveils its financial blueprint aimed at steering Jharkhand’s growth trajectory in the coming year.
