Jharkhand should become the first cashless state: Raghubar Das

Ranchi, Dec. 2: Laying stress at making Jharkhand the first cashless state of the nation, Chief Minister Raghubar Das here on Friday said that all residents of the state should help in making the state cashless.

“Everyone will have to work with spirit and honesty to bring about the desired changes. Government employees of all ranks and file will have to play an active role in the campaign.

Apart from adopting cashless transactions, one should inspire and motivate people to do the same,” the CM said while addressing state bureaucrats and government staff at Project Building Ranchi, after inaugurating the ‘Cashless Jharkhand’ campaign in Nagri, Ranchi.

Referring to corrupt leaders, bureaucrats and businessmen, the CM said that demonetization had hit such people hard. “The demonetization has also hit extremism, terrorism and international rackets dealing in fake currency notes. It was a revolutionary step in maintaining economic discipline,” he said.

The CM said the poor people will be benefitted the most with the government’s scheme on black money. Welfare schemes for poor people will be run with this fund.

Cashless economy will help keep the middlemen at bay. Jharkhand can become the leader of this campaign which requires people’s support and participation on major level, he said.

UDD Minister C. P. Singh, Health Minister Ram Chandra Chandravanshi, MLA Gangotri Kujur, Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma, Addl. CS N. N. Pandey, Addl. CS-cum- Development Commissioner Amit Khare, Principal Secretaries N. N. Sinha, Sukhdev Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Secretary Nidhi Khare and officers in great number were present on this occasion.
