Ranchi: The statewide bandh called by various tribal and political organizations of Jharkhand on domicile policy evoked mixed response on Friday.
Hundreds of bandh supporters were arrested in Ranchi and other parts of the state. They were taken to a camp jail at Jaipal Singh Stadium and later released on personal bond.
The organizations that participated in the bandh included Adivasi Moolvasi Janadhikar Manch, Adivasi Chhatra Sangh, Adivasi Jan Parishad, Adivasi Moolvasi Chhatra Morcha, All Jharkhand Students Union, Sarna Prarthna Sabha and many other organizations.
As a result of the bandh, normal life was badly affected at several places as buses and other commercial vehicles remained off road. Passengers and commuters were adversely affected by the bandh.
