Jamshedpur, Sept 14: The Jharkhand State Ball Badminton Association has announced the men’s and women’s teams for the 71st Senior National Ball Badminton Championship, scheduled to be held in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu from September 25 to 28, 2025.
The teams were finalized after the 23rd Senior Jharkhand State Ball Badminton Championship held earlier this month, where selectors closely observed the performances of participating players.
In the men’s category, Birendra Kumar Mishra has been named captain. He will lead a strong squad that includes Uttam Kumar Nath, Sandeep Kumar Maiti, Manish Kumar, K. Yuva Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Dutymay Singh, Prince Kumar Thakur, Supai Soren, and Vinay Shandil. The men’s team will be guided by coach V. Shiva Rao, with A. Venkat Rao as manager.
For the women’s team, Shakuntala Kumari has been appointed captain. She will be supported by Anjali Kumari, Ritu Kumari, Deepali Singh Sardar, Lakshmi Murmu, Anjali Singh Sardar, Raveena Sardar, Anisha Biruwa, Bandana Machhua, and Anushka Sardar. The women’s team will be coached by D. Surya Bhushan Rao, with Shilpi Maiti as manager.
Jharkhand State Ball Badminton General Secretary Majji Ravi Kumar, Vice President G. Sanyasi Rao, Joint Secretary V. Shiva Rao, D.S.B. Rao, and Auditor Dhiren Panda, along with members of the selection committee, congratulated the players on their selection. They extended best wishes to both teams for an excellent performance at the national level.
