Hemant Soren to face floor test on July 8
Ranchi, July 6: Political upheaval continues in Jharkhand even after Hemant Soren taking oath as chief minister.
Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan has invited Hemant Soren to form the government and prove majority in the first floor test in a week.
Jharkhand Congress President Rajesh Thakur said that in the invitation given by the Governor, it has been asked to conduct a floor test in a week. All the MLAs of the INDIA bloc are with the Chief Minister and he has been elected as the leader of the legislative party. A meeting has been called at the chief minister residence on July 7 to decide the strategy in the floor test.
Hemant Soren was elected the leader of the legislative party in the coalition parties meeting. After this, on July 3, former chief minister Champai Soren submitted his resignation to the Governor. After this, Hemant Soren took the oath of office and secrecy for the post of Chief Minister on July 4. Hemant Soren took oath alone. No MLA took oath with him.
Regarding this, a meeting will be held at the CM residence on Sunday in which a strategy will be made regarding the floor test.
The alliance currently has a total of 43 MLAs. Five MLAs have either become MPs in the Lok Sabha elections or have left the party. At the same time, BJP has 24 MLAs. Two MLAs Manish Jaiswal and Dhullu Mahato have become MPs. At the same time, AJSU has three and NCP has one MLA. Two Independent MLAs are in the BJP camp.
The High Court granted bail to Hemant Soren by giving him relief in the land scam. The court said that the ED does not have any evidence to believe that Hemant Soren is involved in the scam.
Officials asked to be present during assembly session
Ranchi, July 6: All the officers have been ordered to be present during the Jharkhand Assembly session. An order has been issued in this regard on Saturday from the office of the Principal Secretary of the Government, Vandana Dadel.
In a letter addressed to all the Additional Chief Secretaries, all the Principal Secretaries of the Government of Jharkhand, all the Secretaries of the Government, Director General of Police, heads of all departments, Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi and SSP of Ranchi, it has been said that the 16th session of the fifth Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is starting from 11 am on July 8, 2024. It is mandatory for all the officials to be present during this session.
In this order of the government, it has been said that under Rule 139 of the Procedure and Conduct of Business of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, a motion of confidence is to be moved by the Chief Minister in the Council of Ministers. After this, debate and voting is to be held.
Therefore, on July 8, from 11 am till the end of the proceedings of the Assembly, all the officials will be present in the official gallery of the Assembly.
