BJP MLAs continue to protest suspension of 3 leaders
Ranchi, December 20: On the fourth day of the winter session of the Jharkhand Assembly, the 1932 Khatian based local policy bill was passed by the House.
The Pragyan International University (Repeal) Bill 2023 was also passed by the House.

Earlier, the proceedings of the House resumed after the lunch.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren tabled the Bill passed in the special session of the Assembly on November 11, 2022, ‘to extend the definition of Jharkhand local persons and the resultant social, cultural and other benefits to such local persons’.

This is a 1932 Khatian (land survey) based local recruitment policy. After the 1932 (Land survey) Khatian based Local Policy Bill was passed, “Pragyan International University (Repeal) Bill 2023 was introduced in the House.
Jharkhand Reservation in Vacancies in Posts and Services (Amendment) Bill, 2023 was passed from the House. This bill was also returned by the Governor and the government is presenting in the House without amendment.
There is a provision in this bill to give 27 percent reservation to OBCs.
“Shine National University Bill 2023” was also passed by the House. After the four bills were passed by the House, the Speaker adjourned the proceedings till 11 am tomorrow, December 21.
On the occasion, Hemant Soren said that the opposition parties had supported this bill last time. But later they filled the ears of the Governor and also went to court.
The CM said that this policy has nothing to do with the arguments given by the Governor and the Attorney General. This policy and the bill have nothing to do with the old case mentioned. This bill has been made after taking opinion from the Advocate General. Therefore there is no need for amendment in it.
The Jharkhand assembly witnessed uproarious scenes for the second consecutive day on Wednesday as members of the opposition BJP protested against the suspension of three party legislators for the remainder of the winter session.
The saffron party legislators sat in the well, demanding revocation of the suspension, and wore black bands on their faces as a mark of protest.
The Speaker had on Tuesday suspended three BJP MLAs–chief whip Biranchi Narayan, whip J P Patel and legislator Bhanu Pratap Sahi — for the remainder of the winter session. They were marshalled out of the House for “creating disturbances” in the proceedings.
Leader of Opposition Amar Bauri urged the Speaker to revoke the suspension of BJP legislators.
