Jamshedpur: In view of the upcoming by-election in the 45-Ghatsila (ST) Assembly Constituency, the final electoral roll was published today after the completion of the special summary revision process. District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi announced the figures at a press conference held in the Collectorate auditorium. Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh was also present.
As per the Election Commission’s schedule, the draft roll was published on September 2 and claims and objections were accepted till September 17. Their disposal was completed by September 25, paving the way for the final list’s release. A total of 5,325 applications were received under Form 6 for new enrolment, of which 5,171 were accepted. Similarly, 750 applications under Form 7 for deletions and 3,677 under Form 8 for corrections were processed, with 715 and 3,645 accepted respectively.


The final roll now records 2,55,823 electors — an increase of 4,456 voters compared to the draft. This includes 1,24,899 male, 1,30,921 female, and 3 third-gender voters. The gender ratio has improved to 1,048 from 1,038, while the EP ratio has risen to 63.84. Notably, the number of young voters aged 18–19 years has surged to 16,178, reflecting a growth of over 21%. The constituency also has 2,735 PwD voters, 368 service voters, and one overseas elector.
In age distribution, the largest segment is the 30–39 age group with 69,650 voters, followed by 61,378 in the 20–29 category. At the other end, 629 voters are aged above 85, including three centenarians.
The District Election Officer said the rise in youth enrolment demonstrates growing democratic participation, while accurate identification of PwD and service voters highlights inclusivity. He urged all citizens to check their names and details in the roll and exercise their franchise in the upcoming by-election, stressing that the updated list reflects transparency and credibility in the electoral process.
