Jhargram, April 9: Teachers and education workers who lost their jobs following a Supreme Court decision, staged a mass protest on Wednesday. Starting from the Hindu Mission Ground, the protesters marched to the District School Inspector’s office, where they broke through police barricades, entered the premises, and locked the office gate in protest.
The demonstrators claimed they were appointed legally and accused the authorities of terminating their services without proper investigation. “The government must return our rights; the agitation will continue until our jobs are restored,” they said.
After nearly an hour, the District School Inspector arrived and received a memorandum from the protest delegation. He assured the matter would be reported to higher authorities, after which the protesters unlocked the office and dispersed.
