Jhargram, Jan 5: The Jhargram police arrested Majid Ali, the main accused in running a gang of drug peddlers at various pockets in the district. Reportedly, Majid Ali was running a gang of drug dealers in Jhargram district that included areas like Podi Hati, Jamboni, Chichida, Belpahari and other parts. Besides, sources informed that there were many other serious allegations against Majid Ali.
Police believed that Majid Ali could possibly be a link in the chain of a bigger gang. He was produced by the police at the Jhargram Court where permission for 14 days’ police custody was prayed for. The Court approved 12 days’ police custody of Majid Khan after which, the police took the accused under their custody and commenced questioning him.
