 JD(U) criticizes Tata Steel UISL for water neglect in Burmamines, threatens protest

Jamshedpur: Janata Dal (United) leaders expressed anger at Tata Steel UISL for failing to provide drinking water connections to several basti areas in Burmamines despite repeated demands. The affected areas included Vinoba Ashram, Sidhu Kanhu Basti, Vinoba Basti, Das Basti and Koyala Tal Basti.

JD(U) Burmamines Mandal President Bablu Kumar and District Vice President Durga Rao reminded that last year, former Jamshedpur East MLA and current Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy had written to Tata Steel UISL’s Managing Director recommending water connections in these colonies. However, even after a year, no steps had been taken, worsening the water crisis.

On Sunday, East Singhbhum JD(U) District President Subodh Srivastava visited Burmamines and interacted with local residents. People shared their grievances, accusing the company of negligence toward basic needs. Leaders warned that if immediate measures were not taken, JD(U) would stage a strong demonstration at the Tata Steel UISL gate along with residents.

Among those present were Jamshedpur Mahanagar President Ajay Kumar, District Vice President Durga Rao, Burmamines Division President Bablu Kumar Singh, General Secretaries Gangadhar Pandey and Deepu Tiwari, Treasurer Dinu and Raso Behera. Local leaders including Sidhu Kanu Basti Mukhiya Ashok Pandey, Ram Basti Mukhiya Ram Karmakar, along with Hasmukh, Hasina, Poonam, Chandwati, Suman, Sandhya, Anu Choubey, Nagendra Singh, Raj Kishore Shahi, and Bindu also supported the demand. JD(U) made it clear that denial of basic amenities like drinking water would not be tolerated and warned of an agitation if connections were not provided soon. (w/gsd)

 JD(U) leaders visit Mango localities

Jamshedpur: Continuing its outreach initiative, Janata Dal (United) leaders under the Sampark Samasya Samadhan Abhiyan visited Gaud Basti and Shanti Nagar in Mango’s Post Office Road area. The team was led by Committee Chairman Lalu Gaud and accompanied by State General Secretary Kaushal Kumar, East Singhbhum District President Subodh Srivastava, Mahanagar President Ajay Kumar, and several senior party officials.

Residents raised issues including poor road and drain conditions, demand for new road construction, installation of streetlights, and urgent cleaning of drains at Chhath Ghat near Sai Surat Ashram before the upcoming festival. Leaders assured the community that efforts would be made for early resolution of these problems.

After the inspection, JD(U) leaders visited Bharatiya Jan Mahasabha President Dharamchand Poddar, who was recently injured in a road accident, and conveyed their wishes for his speedy recovery.

The visit was also attended by District General Secretary Kulwinder Singh Pannu, Kanahiya Ojha, Vikas Kumar Sahni, Sanjeev Singh, Deepak Gaur, Ashok Singh, and Neeraj Sahu among others.
