Jamshedpur: Members of city-based NGO, Jan Satyagrah, met the deputy commissioner of East Singthbhum, Amit Kumar, on Tuesday and handed over a memorandum to him demanding construction of a drain in Foundry Busti of Burmamines.
The outfit members said the residents of the said locality were reeling under the problem of waterlogging caused by the absence of a proper drainage system.
They said the construction of a sewerage system in the area was still pending. They said the sewerage system should be constructed on a speedy basis and local drains should be cleaned on a regular basis to prevent waterlogging during rains.
The NGO members said they had requested Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) to construct a 500 metre long road and a 600 metre long drain in the area.
