Jam@Streets strikes cord with denizens, footfalls on the rise

Jamshedpur, June 26: Jam@Streets- a monthly street festival-�has succeeded to strike a chord with the denizens with the fourth edition held on the stretch from Bistupur thana to N-Road traffic signal, witnessed the maximum number of people as compared to the last three months –February, March and April.

With doses of dancing, DJ selfie corners and dummy cars along Zumba youths hit streets early morning programme that started today at 5:30 am and concluded at 9 am. More than 20,000.

Like the previous edition this time too Kalamandir, the Jamshedpur based NGO roped in Purulia chhau dancers who performed to spread greater awareness among the people.

People also clicked selfies with the chhau mask on their face. A pottery training session was also organised in which visitors tried their hands in crafting pots from mud.

” This is the first time I am participating here. I am on holiday as the my college is closed and it�s really fun meeting having fun, walk along the stretch and enjoy delicacies,” said Shradha Sen, a final year student of Delhi University.

Jam@Streets day is akin to a street festival with goodies which can be indulged in by the whole family. It has sporting events like roller skating, badminton, basketball, yoga, cycling, aerobics, golf, Carrom, Aerobics and much more. Selfie corner with cut outs of celebrities born at Jamshedpur was introduced for the first time, said an official of Jusco, the main organizer of the event.

The Safe (Safety Awareness for Everyone) Club this time performed a nukkad natak to inculcate importance of safety amongst the visitors.

OIIFT, a fashion designing cradle in the city organised a fashion show to attract youths. They also helped children and youngsters paint temporary tattoos based on fashionable designs.

�It is an innovative way we want to instil a sense of belonging to the citizens here. They come out every Sunday spend time with their friends and family on the streets.

Together with games, there will be rock bands adding to the Sunday euphoria with selfie corner, street painting, magic show, dandiya,� said an official of Jusco.

In association with Jamshedpur Hoteliers� Association several food stalls offering a variety of morning delights including dosas, golgappas, upma, idli, samosa, kachori sabzee, health drinks and fruits, sandwiches, cakes, were offered on the streets.
