Jamshedpur’s Swati Sharma tops Jharkhand in UPSC Exam, secures 17th rank

Jamshedpur, April 16: Jamshedpur’s Swati Sharma, daughter of former defence personnel (CMP) Sanjay Sharma, has brought pride to her city by securing the 17th position in the All India Ranking of the Indian Administrative Service examination conducted by the UPSC. Swati initially expressed her disbelief upon discovering her ranking and admitted that she had not anticipated such outstanding performance. She credited her family, particularly her father and brother Sanjeev Sharma of Tata Steel, for their unwavering support in her journey. Swati’s initial education journey spanned various parts of the country due to her father’s military service. She completed her matriculation from Army Secondary School, Kolkata, and her 12th from Tagore Academy in Sakchi. After earning an MA in Political Science from Jamshedpur Women’s College in 2019, Swati was inspired by her teacher Zakir Akhtar to pursue the UPSC exam. Despite facing initial setbacks in her first two attempts, Swati persevered and made her final attempt in Delhi, where she moved for focused preparation. Swati attributed her success to learning from past mistakes, adopting effective study patterns, and maintaining a positive mindset. Garhwa DC’s Daughter, Sakshi Jamuar, Secures 89th Rank in UPSC Exam

Jamshedpur, April 16 :  The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Combined Civil Services Examination 2023 results were announced on Tuesday, revealing notable achievements by candidates from Jharkhand. Swati Sharma secured the 17th rank, while Sakshi Jamuar, daughter of Garhwa district’s Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Jamuar, attained the 89th rank in the UPSC examination. The UPSC results are available on the official website upsc.gov.in. Aditya Srivastava emerged as the topper, followed by Animesh Pradhan in second place, Donuru Ananya Reddy in third, PK Siddharth Ramkumar in fourth, and Ruhani in fifth position.
