Jamshedpur’s Ranveer Chandra invited to expert roundtable with PM Modi in U.S.

Jamshedpur, Sep 19: Ranveer Chandra, Managing Director for Research for Industry, and CTO of Agri-Food at Microsoft, has been invited to participate in a high-level roundtable discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his upcoming visit to the U.S. The roundtable, titled “Empowering Farmers through Innovation Technology,” will take place on September 23, 2024, in New York.

This significant meeting is being organized under the joint auspices of the Indian Embassy, the United States National Science Foundation, and the National Institute of Food Agriculture. It aims to explore innovative technologies that can empower farmers, and many experts from the U.S. have been invited to contribute.

Ranveer Chandra, who hails from Jamshedpur, received a formal invitation from Indian Ambassador to the U.S., Vinay Kwatra. In his letter, Ambassador Kwatra emphasized that Chandra’s expertise in technology and leadership will be invaluable during the discussions.

Ranveer Chandra is the son of Ramesh Chandra Tiwari, a retired officer of Tata Motors, and a resident of Mango Vijaya Green Earth in Jamshedpur. He completed his schooling at Hill Top School before pursuing higher education at IIT and later moving to the U.S. for further studies and a successful career in technology.

The inclusion of Chandra in this prestigious event underscores the importance of technology in advancing agricultural practices and highlights the global impact of Jamshedpur’s talented professionals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a three-day visit to the United States from 21st to 23rd of this month.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, during the visit, Prime Minister Modi will interact with several foreign leaders and interact with the Indian diaspora in the US. He said, the Prime Minister will also meet with a host of business and industry leaders.

Modi will take part in the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, on Saturday

Prime Minister will travel to New York to attend the Summit of the Future at the United Nations on Monday.

Misri added that Prime Minister Modi will interact with the Indian diaspora on Sunday at Long Island, New York. He will also meet CEOs of leading US-based companies to foster greater collaborations between the two countries in the areas of AI, quantum computing, semiconductors and biotechnology.
