Jamshedpur’s Prashant Singh wins silver in National Bodybuilding Championship

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur’s Prashant Kumar Singh alias Golu, made Jharkhand proud by clinching the silver medal in the 100 kg category at the 16th Senior National Bodybuilding Championship held in Belgaum, Karnataka, from January 14-16, 2025. Despite facing challenges, including the loss of his coach, Prashant, an employee in Tata Motors’ town department, vowed to aim for gold in the upcoming Asian Championship.
In recognition of his achievement, Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Das Sahu honoured him at her office, presenting him with a shawl and sweets. She emphasized the importance of government support for talented athletes. BJP leader Dinesh Kumar also celebrated Prashant’s success by presenting him with a shawl and bouquet while urging youth to follow Prashant’s example and avoid substance abuse.
Leaders Rakesh Singh, Ankit Anand, and Ashish Tiwari were also present during the felicitation ceremonies.
