Jamshedpur’s Loyola School shut after teacher tests positive for Coronavirus

Jamshedpur, April 2: Loyola School in Bistupur locality of Steel City has been sealed by the East Singhbhum district administration after plus 2 teacher of the school tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday, April 2. 

Civic body Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) on Friday sealed Loyola School after a lady teacher of the school was tested positive for Coronavirus. The Loyola School will remain closed for the next 72 hours from today.

Revealing about the step, JNAC’s city manager Ravi Bharti said after the lady teacher was tested positive, the civic body following directives from the district administration sealed the school and instructed the school management to subject to those students who came in contact with the said teacher to undergo Covid test.

” The school may be reopened after 72 hours and only after all the students who had come in contact with the teacher in question are subjected to the Covid test, “said Bharti.

Earlier, DBMS English School and Andhra Association English School was shut after a student and teacher were reported COVID-19 positive. 

A class nine student of Andhra Association English School tested Coronavirus positive  on Wednesday.

The schools DBMS English School and Andhra Association English School, both located in Kadma locality of the city have been detected with corona positive cases.

At the Andhra Association School, a teacher was tested positive, the school was closed from Thursday till further instruction by the administration.

Covid-19 cases continue to rise very fast in East Singhbhum district, especially at the steel city since the past one week.

The district administration has tightened its belt to fight Corona virus. The administration has asked the hospitals to ensure isolation wards are intact. All the isolation wards have adequate provision of masks, drugs, hand sanitisers, water, soaps and other medical requirements.  “ We are spreading awareness among people. We have conducted a review meeting and have asked the health officials concerned to keep an eye,” said official.
